Writer's retreat, Khopoli

This is a modest 1 bedroom dwelling for a writer on a budget who wanted a rustic, low cost weekend home for his family to spend their weekends in rural Maharashtra. The integration of a courtyard between the living and sleeping spaces has allowed this house to feel much larger. The architectural design also incorporates local building techniques and allows for the house to connect to the outdoors seamlessly.

Rather than having a formal conventional sitting arrangement this living room is all about being oriented towards the outdoors and the beautiful views around the site
